The UK is a great place to live, but it's even better if you're a dog lover. We have many dog friendly events and shows throughout the year, including Crufts, which is the largest dog show in the world. In this article we'll talk about some of the most popular UK events where dogs are welcome:
2023 is going to be the year of the dog in the UK.
This year, we're going to be celebrating all things canine. There are so many dog-friendly events taking place in the UK this year that we can barely keep track of them all.
If you love to spend time with your four-legged friend and want to get involved with some events that celebrate our furry friends too, then here are some suggestions:
The London International Dog Show
The London International Dog Show is one of the most prestigious dog shows in the world. It was founded in 1877 and has been held every year since then except for two years during World War II.
The show is held at Olympia, London's oldest venue for public events and exhibitions (opened 1871). The line up of judges changes each year but it always includes highly respected people from all areas of the dog world such as breeders, trainers and handlers. The number of dogs entered also varies depending on their breed but there are usually over 1,000 entrants!
Great British Dog Walk
The Great British Dog Walk is a charity event that celebrates dog walking and raises money for animal welfare. It has been running since 2013 and has grown from a small event to one of the biggest dog events in the UK.
It takes place at various locations across the country on different dates throughout the year. The exact dates, times and locations are announced on their website at least six weeks before each event so you can check them out if you're interested!

A family friendly festival that's held in West Yorkshire and features live music, food stalls and more.
The Dog Show
The Dog Show is an annual event held in the UK. It's a one-day show, which means that you can get there early and enjoy all of the attractions before they get busy or crowded. The show is held at Birmingham's NEC and features various competitions such as agility, obedience and flyball. There will also be stalls selling pet products including toys and clothing for both dogs and humans alike!
Crufts
Crufts is the world's biggest dog show, held annually at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. It attracts over 40,000 dogs and their owners as well as thousands of visitors every year.
The main event lasts for four days but there are also various other events including agility competitions and an obedience demonstration among others. For those who prefer to stay at home or have limited time on their hands there are many ways to watch Crufts online via live stream or catch up services such as BBC iPlayer or ITV Hub (not available in the USA).
It costs £10 per day ticket (£30 for all four days) plus £5 for parking if you want entry into the grounds themselves - although this does not guarantee entry into any particular arena where your favourite breed might be competing so plan accordingly!
Euro Dog Show
The Euro Dog Show is a dog show held in the UK. It's a purebred dog competition, and it takes place annually at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre (NEC). There are several categories of competition that include both adult dogs and puppies.
The Kennel Club Open Show
The Kennel Club Open Show is an annual dog show held in May at the National Dog Show Arena in Leeds, England. It's open to dogs of all breeds and sizes, so you can go with your favorite pet! You can also attend Dogs in Need Charity Open Shows, which are held across the UK. These events take place between May and July and offer you the opportunity to meet your local breed club members who will be able to give you advice on all things dog related.

The Birmingham National Championship Dog Show is a dog show held annually in the UK. It is one of the largest and most prestigious dog shows in Britain, attracting exhibitors from all over Europe and beyond.

Llandudno Dog Show
The Llandudno Dog Show is an annual event held in February, and it's one of the most popular dog shows in the UK. The show has been running since 1991 and has become a family day out for pet lovers from all over Wales and beyond! This year there are more than 1,000 dogs competing for prizes; you'll see everything from dachshunds to poodles strutting their stuff on stage.
The Venue Cymru hosts this super fun event every year so there are plenty of parking spaces available nearby for your convenience - just make sure you don't park on double yellow lines or blocking any other drivers' access!
Scottish Kennel Club All Breeds Championship
The Scottish Kennel Club All Breeds Championship is a dog show held by the Scottish Kennel Club. It is an annual event and has been held since 1859. The show takes place in the United Kingdom, usually during March or April of each year.
The Southern Counties Corgi Speciality Show
Annual event that showcases Welsh Corgis and Cardigan Welsh Corgis as well as Pembroke Welsh Corgis. The show also features other types of dogs such as Jack Russell Terriers and Border Collies who compete against each other at various venues across England, Wales and Scotland during springtime - usually between February to May every year (depending on when Easter falls).

The British Utility Dog Association Championship Show is a dog show for utility dogs, held in April at the NEC in Birmingham. It's a championship show for all breeds and types of working dogs, including livestock guardians and huntaways.
Dorset & Somerset Dog Show
The Dorset & Somerset Dog Show is a dog show that takes place in the UK at the Dorset County Showground. It's held in March, and it's open to all breeds of dog.
Southern Counties Corgi Speciality Show
The Southern Counties Corgi Speciality Show is a fun and friendly event for all corgis, their owners and families. It's a great chance to meet other corgi enthusiasts and see some of the most spectacular dogs in the country.
The show takes place on Saturday 10th September 2019 at Boughton House near Banbury, Oxfordshire. There are plenty of places to stay nearby if you're travelling from outside the area. Scottish Terrier Club of Northern Ireland Open Show
The Scottish Terrier Club of Northern Ireland Open Show will be held on June 20, in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with judging starting at 10:30 AM and going until 3:00 PM. To enter an animal in this show you must pay an entry fee of £5 per dog, which includes all classes except for Best In Show (BIG). There is no limit on the number of dogs that can enter but only one can win BIG!

Welsh Kennel Club All-Breed Championship Show
The Welsh Kennel Club All-Breed Championship Show is an annual event that takes place at the National Showground, Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, Powys. It's a great place to meet other dog owners and learn more about different breeds.
Scottish Terrier Club Open Show, Edinburgh Spring Festival Weekend
The Scottish Terrier Club Open Show is a competition that's held in Edinburgh, Scotland. It's open to all breeds of terriers, including the Scottish Terrier itself!
